(ok yeah i know kinda tired of this situation of mine)
after reading "K Simmons" post i had to ask. would a busted timing chain tensioner cause a rattling/knocking noise and throw the timing of a little. how many tesioners are there? i know that there is one in each bank of cylinders near the top of the engine and another in the block on the lower chain. along with the rattling sound there is a metal to metal scraping sound. it sounds like a putty knife against a sheet of metal. and its coming from the passenger side.
TIA any ideas would be helpful.

There's one each bank of heads up top-->
and that could cause some noise. What is sounds like, I don't know. Mine were in good condition. If the tensioner is worn, I think it could cause some timing changes.
