300,000+ miles on my automatic transmission!
I've got a 92 GXE with over 302,000 miles on it. At 300,200 the top gear of the tranny finally bought the farm. how did my tranny last asl ong as it did?
Well, it wasn't from driving it like a Granny, that's for sure.
I owe it all to Lucas automatic transmission additive, by far, the best thing you can give your tranny. It's literally like an overhaul in an $8 bottle.
My transmission actually started slipping around 230K. After adding two bottles of Lucas, not only did the slipping stop, but I was getting faster and smoother shifts.
Lucas also makes an oil additive, a power steering additive, and a gas additive --good products in their own right, too.
Don't worry. I'm not shilling for Lucas here. I just want to spread the good news about this particular brand of additives.

Not to worry. Snake oil has always been t here from the very beginning...
My friend has a motor oil additive that increases his mileage 5-10% [sorry, do NOT remember its name]. Thats cool when from THE total mileage, motor oil makes around 0,1%...
Additive from the eleventh dimension?
Btw. I am not gonna lose friendship for some %%%, everyone is free to believe in whatever one wants... but still there is only one Creator.
Happy en ding!

Then you use (or $ave not using) additive that is generally known not to harm your tranny ...and drive over that 3M
If your tranny slips anyway, try that additive. It may even help on slipping tranny as it did for dr-rjp.
One cause for tranny slip: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748507/15
Take out and clean with electronics cleaner this connector, and solenoid connector on the tranny:

The additive (if it works as explained) must have smtg that enhances friction. This seems to work well on slipping bands [fault condition already], but is it good overall? Maybe, Maybe not.
Hypothesis: If rjp's tranny solenoids had not enough pwr, that surely caused slipping. Additive stopped that. But if that pwr condition was corrected at that 230k, wouldnt that tranny last 500000? Did the additive 'dictate' the tranny to last only for 70k? Who knows but doesnt tell...
On working tranny I would not add it ive...
...but wow isnt it good that we are free to do whatever we want with our own cars! This is true freedom, not [tirana] central planning which dictates first of all who may ride a state car...
Mind u: I do not want to put down anybody OR dr-rjp, really nothing against persons. I truly believe that the additive helped to get slipping off from his tranny. That is great - no tranny swap.
