I think the window is off the line.....
I heard a few cracking sounds when rolling up the window and then I tried it again and now it doesn't even roll up. I just hear the cracking sound like the motor or regulator seems to be working, but the window isn't catching. I stays up for a little while now if I push it up, but if I drive for awhile, like where there are enough bumps, it will fall down. Any ideas before I check it out tomorrow?

Lubrication with lithium grease: gear, wireguides & all guide grooves [also some lubrication where the window itself travels]. Window travel adjustment (angle).
Make a 2x4 'spacer'
to prop win dowser up.
Aron, it's an easy job. Takes like 30 minutes and a new regulator costs like $60 or so.
Craig's site is a huge help, I recommend it. He is right, too. It is probably one of the plastic pulleys that broke in there. My back one did the same thing when I ran it down at Woodburn. I had it taped up for my last race!

It's the regulator - I had the same thing happen to me about a year ago - I just went to Auto Zone picked up a regulator (without the motor, cause my motor was still in good shape) for about $25.00-$30.00
My boyfriend popped that sucker back in there within 15 minutes (having never replaced a regulator before mind you) so if you or someone you know can do it yourself...I would definitely suggest doing so, otherwise you'll be ripped off in any kind of labor charges, cause there really isnt much labor involved!

if so, then reg is probably teh problem
if not, could be motor, switch, and/or reg
You can put 12v and ground directly to the window motor to test it. Reverse polarity and it should go the opposite way.
My passenger window intermittenly works, when it doesn't it clicks once everytime I press the button... both reg and motor?
My driver window just slows and I have to wiggle it for it to go up... just the reg?
The fact that I can wiggle the window (if you are looking at the side of the car, to your left and right as well as slightly up and down) is that just an effect of the bad reg?
thanks for your replies

ok thanks for all the help guys. I am going with the idea that it's the reg too....I am going to take the panal off tomorrow and check it out. I can hear the motor moving inside and when the window is up, I can roll it down, but I can't roll it up.

P.S. If you can, do the work yourself. It takes minutes! The hardest thing my boyfriend says was taking out the glass, but even that was easy. I helped him - all you have to do is tilt the glass on an angle and carefully slide it in/out. Same either way.
Good Luck!

Its definitely the regulator!!!! And if you can hear the motor turning or moving at all when you push the button, then thats all you need is just the regulator period. It'll save you $20 or so.
