Shift ****

I had a custom boot made and bought a new shift **** and went to install them yersterday and can not get the stock **** off for the life of me. I twisted so hard that the leather ripped off and then thought about using a pipe wrench or something but changed my mind in danger of messing up the linkage. Is there just some trick or is a reagular turn left to take off ****?

hmm. I turned mine pretty hard and at first it kind of "popped" then it unscrewed fairly easy. Since you already ruined the leather, you might as well take some vice grips to it or something.
