z31 coilovers setup ???????
I think you should do more research before you go out and buy z31 (chevy) (american) coilover sping set up and try and install them on a 3rd gen maxima (nissan) (japan).
Dont take info here to seriously people can be sarcastic somedays when the wrong questions is asked. DO like internetautomar said and messure the hight of the coil overs compared to our cars and you tell us if the set up will work. Also see if the z31 springs fit in our struts? Since you dont need a compresion tool for coilovers, is it adjustable enough for you too install our strut? good questions to know before you try the install.
edit: oh and check on ebay for the lowest model year for coilovers for a max (should be 95?) your car should be 89-94.

Z31 = 84-89 Nissan 300ZX. But still, its not like they are gonna bolt right in. Hey, whitemax28, I wish you nothing but the best of luck. Let me know when they are installed.

Z28= chevy Camaro
Z31= 84-89 300z
z32= 90-96 300z
z33 = current 350z and skyline
Z34 = chevy monte carlo / lumina with a 3.4
the 4th gen uses taller struts, so don't count on the coilovers working.

you people are trippin this is a 84- 89 nissan 300zx z31 ****... dumn *** not chevy..no they dont make coilovers for the 3rd gen max.. thats why i posted this site.. to see if you can do that setup.. look at the pics those r the same rear sturts on the max........ thats what im doing research...
huh? none of the suspension components on the Z are similar to the maxima. the Z is rwd so has a totally different front strut design and from the looks of the picture the rear Z suspension components aren't even struts... it looks like a spring and shock combo.

Good luck with your coilover project, there is someone on the .org who was working on coilovers in a third gen but I'm not sure he finished it, I think it was madmax024 or something, I really don't remember.
BTW:The Z doesn't even have rear struts, they're shocks.
