Compression test... one cylinder low...
My compression tester came today and I decided to give it a try on the Maxima . Mine is a 1994 SE with 139,265mi on the clock. All the cylinders registered between 155-160psi except for cylinder #4 which gave me 130. I didn't pour oil in the cylinder and then retest to see if it is the rings because I forgot to.. but is this compression low enough that I should be worried?(Chiltons says 128psi is the minimum it should be). What have you guys/girls gotten for your results?

Well yeah if it is that low that is something to be worried about. Chiltons ALSO says that the maxima diffrance between Cylinders is 14 psi. If you had 150 on them that is a 20psi diffrance. I get like 177 to 180 on My vg with 177,000 on the clock. Did you remember to cut the fuel off by pulling the fuel pump fuse. Also be sure to hold the the throttle body open too wile testing. 160 to 155 seems to be going low too may be time for a rebuild.

Had the TB open... Pulled out the fuel pump fuse, Still smelled fuel but that might have been left over from what was in the lines between the pump and engine... the tip of the tester did not come out wet... Tested each cylinder twice/3 times. I will have to do a compression test on my parts car to see if that engine is any better. If necessary, this engine rebuild will have to on hold until I finish my rotary rebuild. How are the JDM motors working out for ppl?
