91 Alarm Problem?

I haven't driven my Max for a bit because the wife is pregnant and I have to drive her around and she can't get into the Max as easy as she used to, and I had a cheapy Sears battery in there which died. I replaced it the other day with a new Interstate battery, and when I hook up both positive and negative terminals, the alarm starts going off. I get in the car and try to start the car to see if that would stop the alarm, but to no avail. I had installed an alpine alarm in the car last year, so I figured I'd unplug that and see if that was causing it, no dice. I was thinking about pulling the fuse for the factory alarm and see if that works. Anyone have any other ideas what it may be?

I have an Alpine in my other ride...look for a by-pass switch or button.

The Maxima didn't come with the stock remotes. I'm not sure if I tried to lock and unlock the door with the key. I forgot that turns it off too.

The alpine does, but when the alarm goes off for that, the horn doesn't honk, just the siren. I unhooked the alpine alarm and that didn't help. I'm going to try locking and unlocking the door with the key and see if that works in the morning.
