a few people here have them but the general concensus was that pacesetter blows. apparently there were fitment issues too.

This needs to be added to the FAQ so we dont get 2 threads a week asking about headers.

those days have passed. they used to pop up all the time when these pacesetter headers first came out. now it's a monthly problem at the most.

i have cattman headers on the VG installed. i have lost bottom-end with them. but the car seems to have gained a bit more torque in the mids.

in all honesty, you get a better power band with a y-pipe and exhaust setup. the cattman's are excellent quality products, but eventually i will put my y-pipe back on (the headers have their own y-pipe).

i can somewhat get the bottom end back if i really stomp the gas, but this is silly and a cop-magnet. with the y-pipe i could stomp it a bit less and get more off-the-line pickup. now, with the headers, i've pretty much lost that.

to end all threads on this issue: i recommend you not get headers of any kind for the VG. stay with the CAI, and warpspeed exhaust ensemble (including y and b-pipes, cat, and hi-flow muffler).

Forget the whole B-pipe, 2.5" piping from the cat back. Make it a smoother travel for the exhaust gases. Instead of having that worthless bump of a pipe in between. Let the whole neighborhood you're coming home!!!!!

Plus, don't forget NGK wires, NGK plugs or Denso.

edit: AND OF COURSE, not to forget the biggest HP gainer of them all.... THE STICKERS

i will also add, too, perhaps contributing to the low-end torque loss, maybe, is that the cattman headers came fabricated without any inlet holes for the O2 sensor and EGR system. therefore, i am running without these. and i believe the ECU does not like or understand this condition. so the car, although runs smoothly and nice, does not have the pep it used to have.

anyone have any ideas on this?

if it lacks EGR and o2 hookup points, then you are not legal.
But I'd just have an o2 bung welded into the y and run my o2.

right. i know i'm not legal. i want to know the effects, besides poorer gas mileage, of having the ECU run without the O2 at all. i have read before that it will give you a power loss, as if the O2 is bad. in this case the O2 does not exist.

Probably very bad gas mileage, very poor performance and probably end up ruining the engine. Basicly you at a worse place than before having the crappy headers and having spend the $400 or whatever $.

thats easy, drill a hole and weld on a nut that will fit the O2.
