its basically just an electric fan that goes in the intake tube, its supposed to blow more air, making claimed huge hp gains. everyone is pretty skeptical though.

A fan that sits in the intake? Hmmmm. Sounds like
someone was trying to invent a supercheap supercharger.
I think the engine can pull more air than it would be
able to blow. 28mpg my car gets that without any mods
and 15hp sounds dubious. Sounds like a gimick to me.

yeah, they basically market it as a "supercharger". they're ads are like "supercharge any car, only $69.95". it *may* give some slight hp, but 15 does sound like its pushing it. and i wonder how long before the electric motor in the fan craps out.

Re: So what mpg did you have before??

Are you all driving with the wind at your back? I'm only getting 23 MPG and thats with 89 octane gas, a K&N cold intake and a modified muffler. This is an 91 SE. I've looked at that Spiralmax site and I'm skeptical. I'd like more real data.

My max gets 28-30 when I drive it 'normally'. Took a trip this weekend & logged ~550 miles at 80-90mph the entire way. MPG dropped to ~25.

One of things the SpiroCraps claim doesn't emphasize is that they use it in conjunction with a K&N cone, but compare their numbers to the stock airbox and filter.
Anything that gained ~15hp with their product could probably do the same thing with just a K&N cone filter.
