power locks

Hi, My power locks on my 93 have been acting up lately locking on their own or going up then down as I turn the key just taunting me as I try to unlock the car. I don't feel like fixing them because of the high price of the parts and the low value of my car. I am wondering if I could pull a fuse for the power locks and just engage and disengage the locks manually with the key. And if I do pull a fuse will any other accessories be disconected bacause they are on the same circut. also no fuse on my interior panel is marked as being for the power locks so which one should I pull.
Thanks for you help,
Brian

See my reply to the post titled "94 Maxima Power Door Lock Problems", which currently is on page 2. You should be able to disable your power door locks by unplugging the door lock timer - I believe just unplugging the black connector will do the trick. Fairly easy fix, but you will need to remove the dash cover under the steering wheel to get to it. Either your door lock timer or your power window master switch has flown the coop. I can fix your door lock timer for $33 (shipping included) if you're interested. If it is not broken (hard to tell w/out plugging it into a working max), I'll send it back and refund your money less shipping, or I can send you a p/w master switch, which no doubt would be the problem. Hope this helps!

My 92 GXE has a similar problem. I can open and close windows from any door but cannot locl/unlock doors. I've heard that there's one single motor controlling both power windows and power locks. What are you sending for $33? I'll be gratefull if you can also forward your reply on my email mfghazi@yahoo.com.

Thanks.

i had this problem. fixed it by redoing all the solders on the door lock timer and also cleaning up some of the solders on the p/w master switch. i opened my p/w master switch and i saw a messed up spot on the circuit board, i didn't think i'd be able to fix it but try and clean it up with a soldering iron. it helped me a lot. i used to not be able to use my door lock, the wierd thing is that i could lock it by pushing the unlock button twice. hope that helps.
