idle a little rough, chugging, steering vibrate at low speed

HI guys,

I need help on my maxima gxe 1992. the idle is little bit rough, the muffler is chugging, and when you speed at 40-60 km/hr city driving, steering is vibrating. doesnt stall, no error code on the ecu, consumed more gas that normal. checked the coil and high voltage wire were ok. i live in the north east, so it is cold here.
Appreciate all the help you can give.

thnks a lot.

Check sensors, especially Knock Sensor. Replace plugs, wires, cap, filters.

Clean ALL connectors. how: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748507/14

check www.autozone.com for online manual

my money is on a miss from a bad injector.

with the car running unplug the spark plug wires one at a time, and find which one causes NO change in the cars idle.
that one would be the dead cylinder.
measure that injectors resistance, it should be between 10-14 ohms. any other resistance is futile. you'll need a new injector.
I sell injectors along with way too much other stuff.

Crap, will have to check KS. I have all the same symptoms!

Wasn't there a recall on the knock sensors?

thnks for the info, Wiking and internetautomar. i wish i could do the checking rite now, but the weather here in montreal is cold (-14 C). i can only work outside. I hope spring come early. i already tried what internetautomar was advising with the 3 front spark plug wires, and it seems theyre ok. if the weather get a little better, i will try the other 3. is there a technic to remove the injectors connectors, it seems that there is a lock before you can pull it. i am not sure if want to spend to much money on the car, the body and wheel well were showing rust and holes.

thanks again,

orelt

KS bypass is 30 sec job. Well, with that weather its 61 sec...

KS cannot be felt nowhere but in the wallet; needs high octane gas after that. Chugging is whatever from mentioned injectors to ign problems: needs sensor testing, connector cleaning etc, plugs/cap change etc.

I think i found the problem, i checked the other 3 plugs inside (1,3,5) and no. 1 looks like the culprit, i swap wire between 1 and 3 and the same thing. checked the resistance and its about 104-109 ohms, compare to no. 3 which is 14 ohms. is changing the the fuel injector the only solution, i guess i have to bite the bullet on this one.

thanks guys,

So internetatomator 'won'... Next he will sell u the injector, new one

The solenoid gets its kick from the coil generated magnetism. If coil is half broken, it gives only half ? kick. Only way is to replace. Recheck resistance before replacement.
