Toyota filter p/n 90915-YZZA2 on a VG?
can you use the Toyota filter p/n 90915-YZZA2 on a VG? will it fit? from what I understand they are really good for the VTCs but I dont have to worry about that since I have a VG. is that going to be the best filter for my car?

Guys, shoot me if I went overboard. I don't think you should use the toyota filter for the VGs simply because the filter that were designed to be used with the VG engine still exists, thus the need to find an equivalent filter is not necessary. The same thing can not be said for the VE guys, so they need an equivalent type of filter to help their VTCs out. I think the final point should just be what brand of filter would be best for the VGs. If I sound negative, don't take it personal, I meant it in the nicest way.

OEM filter is good, just in case the dealer doesn't carry it, I've read about guys having good resuls with Purolator (they are carried at pepboys, just look up your car make and model in the book they have near the filter section)

I use 'Nippon' badged filters that I buy from ebay. They are excellent quality, and manufactured by Union Sangyo, a Japanese company. The business selling them also has excellent service and fast shipping.
They have the same OEM part # as the Nissan filter.

cheapo brand = less filtering element, not so much filtering prowness,
expensive bran = high quality filtering element, and much more too.
Though I have learned from org members to stay away from the FRAM brand. Expensiv e and crappy.
There used to be a website that disassemble a no branner filter and a nissan authentic filter, and stretches its filter element out straight and side by side, and the nissan one was longer. Same idea.

1st off, you might get a better response on the Fluids / Lubricants forum with this question.
2nd, I believe the Toyota filter is for the VEs and won't work with the VGs due to the filtration flow pattern. I'm not sure if this is the correct term, but the posts in the fluids forum will definitely give you your answer.
