Need Help

Hi I am new to this forum and let me tell you it's one of the most informative one's ive ever visited. I am having a problem with my 94 Maxima GXE automatic. When I first start the car up (cold engine) it seems to idle too fast. After a while I rev the engine twice and it seems to settle down. Yesterday after work I started my car up and again it had the fast idle. This time when I put it in reverse and started to back out the engine died on me. After starting it up again I let it idle for a while then revved the engine up twice, put it in reverse and backed out quickly, this kept it from stalling out again. On the drive home I had no problems, only have problems when the engine is cold. The outside temp was in the low 60s. This is only a recent problem. What could be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You dont tell about any maintenance. Its wonder how well u engine runs...

Do the basic maintenance, check all [engine end] small hoses for brittled ends. They cause leaks... Coils brittled, clean, laquer - or replace. Cold air bypass valve jammed?

How to check IACV: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748507/4

When you say "idles too fast", do you mean the RPM seems a bit high?
