cv help

i took my car to get inspected and they said my cv boot was worn and that i need a new shaft. Is there any way to repair the cv assembly? if not can someone point me in the right direction as to where i can get a new CV boot and assembly? TIA

Yes t here is. Way cheapest is to buy new assy.

Typically they do not explode, so u might drive as long as u ears can bear the noise. But if u keep the car, replace.

The cheapest way is to google it: ask first internetautomator.

if the axle isn't clicking then you can just do a boot.
if it's clicking do the whole axle.

You just got to love mechanics... but of course they have to make a living. And what better way then adding a little more on there should be.

Now I just have to tread carefully now, being one myself

Autozone has them. It's usually about 60$. OR just send a PM to InternetAutoMar.

i spent a few hundred to get mine installed. boot was ripped and axle decided to go last winter. i hate not having a garage otherwise i would have done it myself. i think the axle cost around 100

When you do go and buy a new axel remeber one thing "limited slip differential" is the same as "locking differential" according to the auto parts pros(they need to know this). completely unlike the diffs of the old time 4x4s.
