Tranny/Clutch Problem?

Hey Guys,

Wondering if anyone else has had problems with their transmission/clutch where it just starts making a real dull, barely audible clicking only while in gear? Seems like it is a pretty new noise (and sometimes not audible due to overly loud VTC clicking). Curious if it just a clutch problem, or something worse.

I had to replace whole tranny and clutch. One of the main bearings had worn out, but it sounded better IN gear. But basically it may be your gear oil. Our cars where designed for GL4 but it seems that you can only get GL5 these days. GL5 is made for newer cars and higher pressure. It is bad for your tranny. You also probably need an anti friction additive for the (most likely) limited slip differential which you have.

Hmmm...

Not sure I like the sound of that...replacement of the whole freaking thing I mean...around how much did it cost you? Think I will try the gear oil, since I have never done anything around it and likely the owner before me had not either. Were you able to find GL4 gear oil anywhere? And thanks, by the way, for the info.
