not regulator, not guide... ?

i have a slow window, driver's side, unfortunately.

it goes up, slowly, sometimes quickly, but sometimes seems to drop a little toward the front of the car, which slows it down dramatically.

the regulator seems fine, i checked all the plastic clips and none are broken, the window clamps (plastic adhered to glass) are fine... the track of the window shows no defects. i just cant figure it out.

other than that the VE restoration is going great. one more week and i'll have some good pictures.

Could be the motor itself that is getting a bit weak. Before you check on the motor, try spraying some transmission fluid on the window tracks and the regulator tracks.. See if that fixes the issue.

Same problem with my driver side windows, whenever I roll them down (to pay toll or whatever) the only way to get it back up without jamming the front part first is to hold a finger toward the rear of the glass panel to slow it down, so that it will be level when going up, and not c o c k ed on one side. Try doing that while exiting the toll, merging into a 3 lanes with 8 toll gate, driving a stick, and keeping the car with the contour of the road and not crash into the barriers, while gunning it to avoid being merged into!!!! Would like to hear of a fix, maybe a new track or something, but don't know how much they cost.

edit: the car is also not aligned I'm asking for it I guess.

Im not really an expert, so I can't really advise any of you on the direct problem.. But I use to work at an auto glass shop, and spraying some transmission fluid on dry rubber window tracks and crusty window regulators usually increased the speed by about 10-15% if something was wrong with the equipment. If your parts are good then you should get very good results. Just spray a good amount in the rubber window tracks and on the window regulator track and you should get a bit more performance.

edit: Also when spraying into the window tracks, spread the rubber a bit to get as much in as possible so it can leak down and proceed to moving the window up and down a few times to lube it all up nice and smooth.

Do it with lithium spray grease... and lubricate the whole system while driving the win xp up/down.

Electric motors quite often depend on electricity. Voltage is one quantifying method for it. Check that out, and as u find how low pity V you have got t here, start u harness PM to get V up.

Healthy Voltage with running engine is 13.8V or more at batt, sorry to note, that level will never happen in the door, but the cleaner your connections have been made, the higher voltage.

I too have the same problem with my driver side window...but typically I dont find it to be that big of a deal. I highly doubt my problem is the motor, because the window goes up GREAT when I hold my finger to the rear of the window in order to keep it in line and going up straight....if it was the motor, i think the window would go up s l o w no matter if its straight or not.

Secondly, for some reason or another...I find that when its rainy out or damp out the window works perfectly...It doesnt get caught on whatever it is that makes it lean toward the front any other time...so i can almost definitely say its not the motor.

the funny thing tho is that recently I replaced the regulator (but kept the old motor) on my passenger side window...The window works great the majority of the time..but its the opposite of my driver side. Cause the passenger side window, when it rains or is damp stops going up about 1/4 inch before its completely closed - and that i think might actually be the motor cause it literally dies just before the window is closed..and only creeps up bit after bit while i repeatedly hit the button (but only when its damp out mind you) It works great when its dry....which totally boggles my mind!!! if anyone knows why lemme kno.

But like I said...to me, its not that big of a deal - I can drive well enough to push up the window for that split second should need be...BUT if anyone does have a fix for this prob, I would definitely check into fixing it. so let me know! thanks!!!
