I have a '93 GXE, yesterday I noticed a loud noise coming from right above the right rear wheel. It sounded like a motor and really freaked me out, sounded like something was going to blow. It went on for 2 mins as soon as I started the car and was gone after that and then when I turned off the ignition it lasted for anohther 30 secs and was gone. It sounded like it was coming from inside the trunk. Have no clue what it was....

Any clues anyone...?

 

antenna? fuel pump? "battery operated self-stimulator"? who knows...could use a better description....but antenna is my guess

 

My bet is with Ant Enna. Wants to go up, warped down to rusthell.

Btw. U can verify that by looking if AntEnna will stand up???

Disengage AntEnna pwr wires from life, she'll keep silenciado.
Disengage Fuelpump connectors, car'll keep silenciado...

I think it is the Antenna which is causing me the noise.

 

So tripleG got it right...

I bet its motor gears can make noise from hell, not because of its size and minuscle power, but how its connected - mechanically to the 'piano' echo chamber.
