timing belt and other replacements

ok, when should the timing belt be replaced, i think it is a belt and not a chain. im not sure though. is there any other parts that should be changed around 125,000 miles??? i got no owners book with the car or anything. ohh, and i also wanna add a little horsepower to the car. what are some cheap horsepower/torque increasers?????

Well what model and year do you have first? Then we can tell you if you have a belt of a chain.

Well, if you have a VG then you have a belt (89-91 gxe and se and 92-94 gxe only).........I'm pretty sure that the all-data maintanence schedule for the vg says that the belt should be done at 120,000mi.

As for anything else being done at the same time, I would say other accessory belts and water pump maybe, but im not sure about that one.

As for the horsepower increasers, I cant really think of anything else other than maybe an Underdrive Pulley to put on for a lil more power while your workin in that area of the engine bay. But cheap things all around would be swiss cheese the air box maybe, and Warpspeed Y-pipes are priced pretty good and I hear they are good for a few horses.

The replacement interval for the VG30E engine timing belt is 60,000 miles (96,000km). If the timing belt is inspected earlier shows signs of wear or defects, the belt should be replaced at that time. The VG30E engine is an interference which means a piston will collide with a valve to either bend or break it if the timing belt breaks.

Have u stolen it 'cause no papers?

In that case get the numbers under the hood, click log on www.autozone.com and dechipter the number series. Get 'new' license plates from junkyard.

Please do not change belt if u have chain.

Stock intake/exhaust is restricted. Also std ign setting is "retarded" 'cause people want to drive with low octane: adjust it to small boost, then u must drive with higher octane.

Check that sensors work as they should, especially KS.

Peek what VGE horses with belts, KS etc, look like:
