I lost my foglights
I've been working on this for the past week, and finally got it running last night. There are a few issues, like a rough idle and some bucking/hesitation at part throttle, but thats about it. I dont have a tune yet, so I haven't gotten into the gas much, but it pulls just as hard now at half throttle as it did WOT N/A. I'm running 6 psi, controlled by the wastegate spring. I will be taking the car to the track as soon as its open, I'm really curious to see what kind of times I can put up. I have to say though it was definately worth the work and cost!
Here are some more pics

Thanks for the comments guys. Michael, that copper pipe was just to hold the hood up for a week, I didnt want to stress the hood struts that long
It was definately a challenging project, there are alot of things you dont expect, and numerous small things that I had forgot. I went to the hardware store at least once a day for bolts, and a couple trips to Autozone along the way.

It is very nice work though Brad. You never seemed like the type to really half **** anything and it shows here

BTW how hard was it to do the welding. There's a welder in my area for sale for 200 and I was considering getting it for some projects I have lined up starting this spring.

dont expect to be an expert welder right off the bat. Get a good mig practice a lot and you will get pretty good in no time. Migs are actually very easy to weld with.

Harvs94max- yeah, I'm definately going to GLD, unless something unforeseen comes up
I would cover it up with mesh, but I kind of like the non-sleeper look I will probably get something to protect it from stones, I think I already have a bent fin from something. As for welding, I did all of the welds in the pics, and it was pretty much my first time. They are all MIG, except for the crossmember, which was arc welded. My dad had to help a little on that one, the nice welds on that one were done by him. I kept getting the electrode stuck to the metal.

List of questions.
How much planning did it take to do this? Do you recommend making the kit yourself as opposed to paying around 3 grand for someone to make one for you? What guage piping did you use?

Great job, Now that is a ve. I just hope N34JZ doesnt see this, or else he will surely make it happen for his max
when its all said and done what is your projected hp/torque @ the crank vs wheels

Also, your setup is impressive. I'm drooling here
Makes me want to start gathering parts for mine. I give you mAd tyt3 props on your completion

I have been planning this since around last October, and I started collecting parts in December. I found alot of it on Ebay. The intercooler is from www.johnnyracecar.com. Its a very quality unit, and you cant beat the price! The core dimensions on it are 25x7.75x2.75. As for expected power... I'm not real sure. I'm hoping for somewhere around 270whp. I'd say thats reasonable, considering I have the stock 10:1 compression pistons.
Tonight I was able to get a rough tune in, but I need to reconfigure my intake pipe. The bend that I have right before the MAF is causing idle issues, and possibly the part throttle bucking. I tuned it to around 11.1 AFR at WOT, but the numbers keep jumping around. It runs rich at part throttle under boost (around 10.5 AFR, give or take), but I dont think I can correct for that since the FMU adds the fuel per lb of boost, not taking into account the throttle position.

I *may* be able to make some of those y-pipes this summer if there is genuine interest, but it will put the turbo/wategate in a specific location, so there really wouldn't be much room for customization.

cool... correct me if im wrong .. but, the FMU your using works off of vacum and basicly pushes more fuel with more lbs boost... i would really love to know how all that stuf works...
-stock injectors right? and ECU?
-ohh plzzzz make at least one... for me? i would love to boost my jdm motor while its still "low" mileage.
i commend you once again..
Cya!

huh? it says my car is turbo?
btw my G will smoke my max with a turbo or without. Im not really gonna try to make my maxima much faster, Im happy with the way it is, Ive got my fast car that I always wanted and its stock and it feels great knowing nothing is wrong with it, and everytime I get in I dont have to say to myself "well lets see, I fixed X last week, so will Y break on me this week."
