does any place do it or is it just worth doing a VE swap? sorry for the long story I have a 90 GXE, and the odomiter was broken when i got the car. i found out that the original owner had the t-belt/ water pump done around 85-90k and the odomiter broke at 115. he said that he only drove it for a little while, but i really dont know. ive had it for a little more than a year, and i probably put another 10k on the motor myself. for all i know it could be ready to just snap. i got a quote from one shop and it was $880 with all "genuine Nissan parts". it dosent seem worth it to me. ive already dumped $2000 more than i paid for the car into it, and that was $1200. i also got into a wreck with it and i need to replace the radiator support and get it pulled some. im a college student on a small budget. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

i'll tell u this ain't goin' to be a weekend project on dropping a VE motor in a GXE. maybe with the same motor but not a VE. i've been thinkin' about doin' the same to either my '93 or my '89 but im currently in the market for a low mileage motor for my '93. i would of thought Jeff might of given u a hard time on the VE swap but looks like he didn't.

small budget...no tools, no place to do work... you shouldn't even be thinking about any motor swap unless you can afford to pay someone to do the work. IMO i would pay to have the T-belt et. al. work done. How does the motor run now?

well it runs kinda sh!tty right now. im gettin pretty bad milage and i think i need an o2. possibly a few injectors.my valve cover on the front is leakin. i just dont think that it is worth the $ to do all of that and still have a motor with 150k+/- on it. how bad is the rebuild if i get another motor? cost wise and time? a VG

I suggest fixing it every once at a time. First get the t-belt and gasket leak fixed. Then get a FULL TUNE-UP.
