Wheels and lugnuts

I bought a set of RSL 8 Ikari wheels (p/n R87710H40A 17x7 5x100/114.3 40 Anthracite) for my 93 max SE. Does anyone know what type of lugnuts to put on? It looks like the acorn type, but I have no idea what to get at the local autoparts store. Does anyone have the specs of the original lugnuts or studs?

TIA,
kachorknik

yeah, acorn type for most wheels
12x1.25 I think - normally they have a catalog in the auto parts store that'll tell you for sure

you are going to need tuner lugs for those wheels more than likely.

I like the McGard spline drive lug nuts because I dont have to worry about them rusting. Gorilla makes some as well that are supposed to be good but a lot cheaper than the McGard.

I do not like the ones where you put the key in the center because they will rust where the key goes.

Anyway just remember to get tuner lugs in the size Craig mentioned and you will be fine.

i take it spline and acorn are different styles.....

does it matter what i get?... i saw both styles so i didnt know what to get. i saw the mcgard ones where a bit steep but the gorilla brand was pretty cheap and made of the heat treated hardened steel.

edit: figured i would read awsm66's post again and now i know what i need. d'oh

I haven't had any problems with mine. And SD salts their road a lot during the winter. But I don't remember what brand they were.

If you have any doubt, just go to a tire store and ask them what options you have. A reputable tire store will be able to help you more than the internet will.

Besides, you should probably buy a set from a local place, since lugnuts are pretty heavy and the shipping tends to negate any savings you might have made on the cost.

Fyi

I ended up getting the Gorrilla 12 x 1.25 tuner lugs for $28. The regular acorn lugnuts were too big fit, therefore would not seat very well and was difficult to tighten.

Thanks for everyone replying!
