car shakes in drive when still
#3
Same on my car
It only shakes on DRIVE when i come to a idle.. but if i step on the gas pedal.. it's quiet again.,.. no shaking.. sometimes, the RPM really goes down low when i switch from neutral to drive. They say this is the Engine and Tranny Mounts.. which are not really cheap.. so ask around and see if it really is the mounts... i guess it is...

mine was doing this and it was just a dirty spark plug, it had carbon deposits on it. i was running my engine too hot cuz my coolant sensor was broken. i fixed the sensor and cleaned the spark plug and now its fine. if you want you can also go to a hotter spark plug, only do one number up at a time. i would at least try it out. djx im not sure of your problem though.

What are the idle speed in drive ? and in park/neutral ?
In neutral should be about 750, and should drop by 100-150 in drive.
If it is lower than this then perhaps you need to have the idle speed turned up.
Also a bad alternator/battery can cause voltage drop at idle which will have fuel pump run at lower speed and thus create lower fuel pressure causing artificially rough/low idle.

I have the same problem on my 90 GXE. The rpm will fluctuate sometimes ar idle while in Drive. But other than that the car runs good. spark plugs are NGK coppers with only 10k on them. Fuel and air filter, along with the PCV valve is new. I checked the resistence on the fuel injectors, and they were ok. Anyone know what the problem is??

do you mean your whole car shakes or just the steering wheel? if its just the steering wheel i have started having the same problem this week, i think its the pcv valve because its also having trouble finding idle but i'm not sure, i also think my tranny is having issues also but i dunno if that could contribute.
