VTC Ticking only when car is warm?

When I start my car in the morning, it doesn't tick until it is completely warmed up. But after driving it warm for like 20 minutes, the ticking disappears. Is this normal?

Mine acts like that sort of. Completely cold it is quiet. If I take a short drive to the store or something and not get completely warm, it ticks when I get back in it. After completely warming though, it goes away. I guess that is normal. I remember someone else saying theirs only ticks when warm.

That's exactly what happens with mine. Also, if i start the car with the VTCs ticking and leave it idling for about 10 minutes, it goes away too. Seems to be normal.
