old car + susp. upgrade= broken parts
#1
My Maxipad had 190k kms on it when I upgraded the suspension with all the goodies available for the Max.
Since then Ive put on 8k kms, and so far Ive broken both lower ball joints, and the rear sway bar body mount, It tore right off the frame.
I am waiting to see what will break next.
I take turns nice and hard, well, cause I like to abuse my cars.
It doesnt help either when I have really sticky tires that just dont slide on asphalt.(Yokohama S1 intermediates)
So I'll keep you guys posted on whats gonna break next.)

the rear sway bar mounts are the most common. the ball joints are kinda a surprise.. wearing them out is one thing, breaking them is another.
basically just watch the rear sway bar mounts. I've had both of mine break in 2 different places.

I didnt break them completely, but they were close to breaking, there was large play in them, it was throwing my alignment off by 2degrees on the passenger side, and 1.5degrees on the better side.
The rear sway is an ST sway bar, it ripped the bolt right thru the mounting hole on the cars underbody, Im gonna weld the mount( the little thin doggy bone like mount) directly to the frame.
When i get the Max to run properly, Im gonna make a couple of more sturdy mounts for the rear sway, those stock one are too tiny, They remind me of the rear cv axles on the Honda CRVs.
The mounts are pretty simple to change, as long as the mount's mount is not broken like in my situation.
