I have finally forked out for a new speed sensor. To remove the old one is there only the 10 mm bolt holding it down. I've tried before to pull it out (admittedly by hand only) before and it would budge. How delicate are these beasties if I prise it out?

give it a wiggle it should come out

first clean the surrounding area on the sensor. because when you pull it out there will be a nice hole in your tranny and you wouldnt want any dirt to fall in.
And when you install the new one also give a giggle, the gears need to mesh. you may also want to clean the connections on the male connector.
how much did you pay?

How much?

$NZ317 + tax. Could have got if from Courtesy for $250 landed but no one could confirm if the parts were identical between US Maximas and Japanese market ones.

Oh well, its only money .........
