Removing "door ding" guards on a 91

I have seen the rubber strips removed on many 3rd gens here. Just wondering if it is easy to take off as I think. Just pull it off, get as much residue off, clay bar, wax and you're done? No holes or anything? Thanks for your help!

use a heat gun to pull it off, enoughheat and it ill peel off.

use goo gone or your choice of non paint killing adhesive remover.

yeah but its a very long job... if u dont have a heat gun the glue that you have to get off of the door wont come off easly... by hand and with an adhisive remover it will take you about 2 hours a side.... at least!!

- if u have a heat gun.... just remove the inside door panel and heat up the door from the inside .. and then pull the door guards off... when done right no glue will be left on the car door.

edit: beat me to it...

what chris said (yes nice sig chris, please say ur ricer days r over)
as for the side moldings people have also used a rub wheel that u can put in a drill to get the glue off
also beware they do serve a purpose so dont be pissed when little dingers start showing up
