Heater issues

Hey guys,

My heater has suddenly stopped working, I'm only getting cold air out of the vents in all modes.
I've tested the valve on the firewall and it works ok, and the coolant levels are fine, infact both the inlet and outlet pipes from the heater core are getting hot, so the water must be flowing through.

I have the auto climate control unit, and so i ran the diagnostic test as detailed on Craigs site, and came up with a code 26 - which is PBR.

What exactly is the PBR? I can't find a reference to what this part is..

Could the issue be the vent control flaps not allowing the air to pass over the heater core? The diagnostic test didn't show any errors during test 3 (Door motor mode) so does that rule that out?

I'd apreciate any suggestions that could help me solve this, i am currently on holiday, and away from home so don't have my service manual, and only basic tools on board.

Im not too sure about the code, but I would bleed it first just to make sure. Thats just me.

Yes.

Mail Craig.

R as a last letter points to resistor. The system must have 1-3 temp resistor(s) = sensors which are used as input adjust cricuits.

After some more diagnosing and exploring, it appears to be the air door motor that has stopped working, and it's not moving the max cold lever. From what i can gather the PBR is some part of that circuit. I've removed the air door motor, and can manually move the max cold lever, and now get heat!
After opening the air door motor up, it seems ok inside, ie, no corrosion or anything obvious thats become disconnected. I've left my multimeter at home, so i can't test the input wires, but i guess its either the motor unit itself is stuffed, or the climate control unit itself is malfunctioning.

Thanks for your input Drivin maxima and Wilking (your site is great by the way - it was a good starting reference) I'll give craig an email when i get home from holiday and have more time to sort it out.
