if you are wondering about the dash Im still waiting to paint it untill I figure out which new deck i want to go with.

and if you care here is a quick run down on the detail of my max

powerwash with gliptone wash and shine
compounded the fenders and hood with 3m perfect-it III
glazed it with gliptone poly-gloss
waxed it with gliptone clear coat synthetic wax (2 coats)
today Im gonna go over it with some caranuba wax to deepen the shine.

all in all im happy my max its back to its shine

and I also waxed my G for the first time, I used this new wax that my freind is testing for a detail supply company, cant really give any details about it yet, but I was pretty impressed for a paste wax. And both cars were air dried for a swirl free finish

Nice job, that's a sharp max I like the antenna mod, I thought about doing that on mine. Nice G35 too, my next car will be a 4 door G35 if I can find one with the 6 speed, can't wait till the 290+hp one comes out. I'm wondering though, if you were going to get a coupe why didn't you just get a 350Z instead of the G35? Is it just because of the two extra seats or what?

thanks for the compliments guys, the sedan in the photos belongs to a good freind of mine, the coupe is mine. In regards to why I didnt buy the 350z instead of the G35 let me put it this way, there is much more seperating these two cars than backseats, test drive both and you will understand better. The 350z IMO is a sports car, nothing more nothing less, the G35 is a luxury sports coupe, the Z may be alittle faster but once you drive both its easy to see why the G will cost you 10k more than the Z.

I know, the weather here isnt that great today either, since we werent working today I was gonna put the last coat of wax on today, but after spending 3 hours at dmv it was much easier to sit down at the computer than to start waxing the max

Thanks for the info, I was just a little curious and I was trying to find a "car guy" to ask becuase I figured I'd get a good answer that way. So have you compared the G35 coupe to the sedan at all? Any feedback on that comparo? I'm leaning towards the sedan because I think that's the only way I can convince myself to fork out the $$$, it would be a family car you know

Ive never driven a 6mt sedan but Ive driven a few 5AT's and they are pretty quick too, they have alot of pep, The inside has pretty much the same feel as the coupe, except the way the seats feel but other than that I think its a great car, Id wait till the 05's drop in a price a bit because I think the styling of the sedan was perfected with the newer ones that just came out.

well the 6mt comes with summer tires in very cold weather its ver easy to spin the tires but other than that its not to bad, however in snow with rwd and summer tires you wont get to far.

I know alot of the g35 guys run snow tires and have no problems at all.

G coupe is closest to the Z Touring Edition. The latter books at about a grand MORE than the G. Both share the same engine and transmission. Source www.edmunds.com

I only noticed because I am getting a G coupe myself this fall.

No you can't. Z doesn't offer any options, much like most thoroughbred two-seater sports cars. That's the EXACT point I was trying to make. Mechanically, they are 100% identical. You said in your post that DRIVING the G clearly proves why it costs 10G more.....and driving alone has little to do with a GPS, heated seats, or any other options totaling 10G; it is ONLY about the performance. And that characteristic is the same in both cars due to their shared DNA.

who said driving is only about performance? you did, not me. GPS navigation and heated seats (to use the examples you used) make driving much more comfortable and enjoyable along with other things the G offers that the Z does not, thats the most common thing I get "why did you get this instead of the 350z? is it because it has back seats?". And no they are not 100% mechanically identical.

If you have driven both cars Ill continue this debate with you, if not then theres no way you can claim to understand what Im talking about so arguing will only be a waste of time.

In the interest of keeping this from turning into another limitless "I said, You said" thread, like countless others on these forums, let me just say that G costs more because of the niceties it offers, which is why you have it, and I am getting it in 6 months. Yes, I have test driven ALL versions of the Z and the 6M version of the G, much like you may have before you bought it. As for the "100% identical mechanics", I didn't invent that term...all my online research in the past 6 months has consistently pointed to it.

fair enough, but by driving both you have to be able to understand the experience while drivng the G vs the Z is very different.

yeah, they have about 50-60 cars down there at any given time, the shop is huge, after we pulled our cars out we pulled so more cars in and got 40 cars total in that *****. theres still some machinery left over from the last owner but once that gets out and even once the new spray booth is installed we could probably get another 5 or 6 cars in there.
