Is it an SE or GXE? My SE had stock 6x9s in the rear. Four nuts on each speaker and they were out. Replaced with better 6x9s and ran new speaker wire. (amp) The previous owner of your car may have already swapped things out. Need more information about your car to help accurately.

You have the non bose system. Those are the factor speaker for the non bose system. yes the speakers are actually 5.25 but the hole and mounting holes are fine for a large 6.5 (6.75).

If you want to put the 6x9 in you will have to either cut the deck (something I dont like to do) or buy a set of bose adapters from a junk yard. I have a set of adapters I could sell you if I find all the screws to them. I will email or pm you later if I do.

Another problem with cutting the holes for the speaker is sometimes the speakers will hit the trunk torsion bar. The bose bracket takes thin into account so you dont hit the bars.

I believe there is a clarion amp for the rear speakers (a single amp instead of one on each speaker like bose...also no front amp) you have to bypass. I am not 100 sure since its been a long long time since I messed with a non bose system (like 6 or 7 years).

Check it out- I just finished a 6x9 install today, will have pics posted this weekend. Just buy some 6x9 speaker boxes, cut them to make "risers", drill some new holes and screw them down. Also, don't but crappy boxes, the wood split in two spots when putting the screws in. Then I crzy glued the **** out of the holes and screws, no problem. they look good!

Like I said, pics coming soon. I cut them at like 1 or 1 1/2 in. in front and 2 or 2 1/2 in. in back. I did it on my old accord a couple years ago. The magnets fit nicely in the stock speaker hole. A word of advice, have someone in the trunk and someone above to make sure screws and box line up. I did it solo, pain in the a$$!!!

Remove stock speaker covers, you'll have to remove the rear seat back to lift off the carpet on the rear deck and remove these covers.

Should i make it bigger? And if i put the bose brackets in, can i cut it at all without messing up how it mounts? (2) I dremel the metal and get some self tapping screws and mount them there (3) I finish my little wood bracket method which is gay and ghetto.

Thanks for all the help. After this im going to do a step by step write up for the non bose system, all this info on the board is great, but its all over the place.

I have pics ready to post, but i'm retarded or something. I can't figure out how to post them. I think I might not have this feature enabled by a moderator. Help me figure this one out and I'll post the pics right now.

Love those kappa perfects, great speakers, i reccomend them to anyone. Next will be a few subs, but we'll hold off on that till summer. Thanks for all the help guys, look for my write up in the next few days or so.
