Bad Steering when road is wet.

The max runs fine when road is dry, exept when I change lanes on the freeway the dividing markers make my car swerve a small amt.

when it rains you could feel this alot more, IF i get on the freeway when it is raining the car swereves ALOT, imposible to go over 45-50 mph if the road is wet becuase the car drives like if im jigeling the steering wheel from left to right.(dont know if that is clear)

I thought it might be my control arm bushings and ball joints, (uneven tire wear on passenger tire) So i was going to replace those, but some one told me it was somthing else, some bushing/ruber parts in the Tie rod assembly. I dont want to buy Parts the Max does not need.

The car Drives fine and I only drive like 5-7 minutes to work, but I just cant drive on the freeway or go verfy fast when road has water puddles. What do you guys think I should do?? any info would be apreciated.

Does it jerk the wheel when you shift? If it does it's mosat likely your control arm bushings and ball joints. Also check your rear parallel link bushings, they can cause your rear wheel to move a little and pull.

Did you happen to go very fast through water puddles? I don't know about your area, but the express way in my state have severe road crown where water would collect in the "trenches" where your tires would ride, and the result is a hydroplaning, and as a result it will cause the car to swerve, and since the tires are basically riding on water, there is no control over it and the car basically just goes with the direction and momentum that it happens to be at when the hydroplanning starts. It happened to me once, and I almost did a 180 in busy traffic and a bus right behind my tail, not a fun experience.

all tire have been replaced bought two used wich are on the back, and two new (discount tire) The Pasenger side tire wear is worn on the inside but has thread on the outside, all other tires wore out evenly.

and the car swereves from left to right but not just when It is raining, also when i pass the devider markers on the freeway, but only on high speeds. I do get grip on the tires but seems like the car jerks left to right, not like a sliding/drifting feling.

its an automatic but it rides evenly no torque steer. and I dont know if my Tie rod is bad, some one just told me that was the Prob after driving the car. What should I look for when i check to see if its bad??

Im pretty sure my control arm bushings and ball joints are bad becuse they are OME from 15 years ago but could that cause the problem, should I also replace the Tie rods??

Should I replace one and if problems persist replace the other?? thanks guys.

What? ...does smbdy need alignment? waste of money. Weld right axle rigid and put skis on that side.

I actually need an allignment which causes the problem that was mentioned above by the original poster.

Youre right. Every car that IS USED needs it, time to time. One kink with pavement, and thats it, alignment gone. Seldom the question is of broken joints.

I think my aligment is fine, the car does not lean to the right or the left when the road is dry. and if road is dry I can hit 90mph easy and suspension feels fine.

Im proly not describing it well. Do you guys know the Feeling the car gets right before it will fishtail? Kind of like that, a quick jerky left to right movement, but mine (in rain) is a constant jerky left/right movement until I slow down to around 45mph, even then keeping control is difficult.

Car drives fine every day (dry road) exept when it rains, then I have control issues (wet Road).
