To use those rotors, you will need to mill them down a few mm then the calipers bolt to the stock location (so no brackets).

The only rotors you need brackets for are
13" cobra rotors
12.6" 2004 Maxima rotors

So to use Jeff's kit, can you use the stock maxima calipers, and 12.4" maxima rotors? I tried reading the thread that was already involving this stuff but there were many people with different ideas/opinions and i couldnt find a straight answer.

So here is my exact question...
If i buy the 45 dollar mounting thing from Jeff, is all i need after that larger rotors? Or do i HAVE to get new calipers and brake lines?

I might be off subject but does anyone know where i can find a write up or guide line on how to install the 300z barke upgrades. The other thing is that if you go on the ebay search tool and search for the 300z brake calipers all i find is some brake lines. would the other one like the 300zx brake calipers work.

for example would these work: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

thanks in advance

that was my question because i am under the impression that i have buy extra equipment. like the calipers because i am sure that the factory calipers will not hold the 13" rotors.

Quick and dirty:

Jeff92se: 300z calipers + bbk brackets + 13" Cobra rotors + lines
Matt93se: 300z calipers + bbk brackets + 2k4 rotors + lines

Yes, 300z = 300zx = Z32.

So something like that will work then? Sorry if this is repetative and annoying, but it would sure be an expensive mistake to get the wrong thing, and i will take the chance of making others mad.

Any set of calipers from a 1990-1996 300ZX will work WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE N/A 1990 CALIPERS, THEY ARE 26MM VS 30MM FOR ALL OTHERS. The 1990tt and 1991 calipers are more desirable because they are Aluminum (light).

Yeah i fixed the ebay page, it was missing like one letter, but it works now. So if anyone knows if that specific brake will work i would be very appreciative, and Mizeree X, thanks for all your help too!

Thats what it sounds like, and then if you want to go bigger then thats when you have to get the brackets. Thats my understanding of it.

Lol, no you can't use 300ZX calipers with stock rotors -- our stock rotors are too narrow. Please, do some searching instead of just spreading these half-truths.

Here are the 3 front BBKs for our cars (and I'm practically repeating Jeff here)

A. 300ZX (Z32) 30mm calipers, Z32 to Maxima front brakelines are required for ALL 3 KITS

- 300ZX "Kit": A + 300ZX rotors, shaved down by 2-4mm so they clear the caliper. No bracket required

- Jeff's Cobra kit: A + 13" 98 Mustang Cobra rotors, Jeff's caliper relocation bracket, and hubcentric rings for the rotors (sold by Candiman)

- Matt's 2k4 kit: A + 12.6" 2004+ Maxima rotors, and Matt's caliper relocation bracket.

Anything else is a completely custom (ie unproven) system.

You forget the really expensive kits.

Stillen (looks like a Baer kit to me), AP and Brembo all make BBKs for our cars but they cost more than most 3rd gens are worth lol.

thanx for the info Mizeree_X, the only last question i had was where do you get the Z32 to Maxima front brakelines? From then on i will be set and good to go. I am actually going to try this out. The other question would be would the brackets that jeff is selling fit under the 2002 nissan maxima oem rims. they are 17x7. and i wanted to use those on a 92 maxima se with the whole big brake upgrade??

thank you.

There are people on the org who sell them. I'll leave it up to you to find them. Oh, and any stock Maxima wheels from 3rd-5th gen definitely won't work. I don't know about 6th gen wheels, but I am guessing they won't fit either. You need low offset + a good spoke pattern to get the Z32 calipers to fit, they are monsters.

Yeah, I meant to say "Here are the 3 front BBKs for our cars that use the Z32 calipers". Just got a little frustrated with all the mis-information being thrown around in this thread.

Brake lines-Matt (maybe Jeff)

Fitment under 2k2 17s...NO at least not Jeff's. Matt's maybe you would have to ask but I know I have seen Jeff or others comment the Cobra kit will not work with the 2k2 17s.

Matt's 2k4 rotors and 300zx calipers won't fit under a 2k2 17 wheel. Not nearly enough spoke clearance.

I have the rear bbk brackets here and ready to go. $75 shipped. You just need this bracket and a set of 1986 300z turbo rear rotors. Plug and play. Uses your stock calipers

you mean to shorten the radius, or the thickness of the rotor?
If its the radius can you modify the caliper so it will fit?
