New 1/4 mile record for the fastest NA VE Auto!
14.308 @ 94.25 with a stock ECU!
Since my 14.57, I've removed another 150lbs, put on rear skinnies, setup a variable intake system, fabbed up spacers to the upper intake and throttle body, bored the TB to 63.5mm, ported the exhaust manifolds, and raised the rear and zip tied the front of the car.
My best 60' use to be 2.17. Now it's 2.08.
60' 2.089
330' 5.910
1/8 9.121 @ 75.60
1000' 11.929
1/4 14.308 @ 94.25
It was 74 degrees, 45% hum, 29.79" on the barometer and a 7 mph left to right cross wind. The air density altitude was 1342 feet above sea level. Last time, I did 14.57 in California, it was 1200 feet above sea level. But in my experience, the track at Moroso is about 2 tenths slower for no reason.
I heated up my drag radials sufficiently and I still spun them badly when I did the 2.08. On my first run, I stalled it up to 2800 rpm, but I spun worse and did a 2.35 60'. I did my 2.08 by launching right off of idle.
I weighed my car while still in 100% track mode and got 2890lbs. Not too shabby considering my 'weighed in' stock weight is exactly 3300lbs! I calculated my track weight to be 2930lbs, but I was a little off.
All in all, it was a good night. 14.3 is the best I could have hoped for on this normal FL night at a horrible track. Isn't the record for the fastest NA VE around a 14.3, set by Bryan H? Has anybody posted anything better than a 14.3 with any NA VE Maxima?

Awesome times Aaron.
Thanks Donald. Remember, I don't even have my ECU tuned yet! That's good for atleast 10hp right there. I will be able to make myself a race fuel program too to make even more power at the track. Just gotta get the system working in my car and I will be in business.

Why don't you come down to Woodburn in June and put your money where your mouth is?
Even though it won't be an NIC2, there will still be racing going on...
I think we have about 4-5 Maximas already lined up. You and Anton need to cruise on down here.

Heh... Even I'd be sorta hesitant to go up against ya.just sorta Good thing I drove your car with all the mods once before. heh. I was truely impressed with how it ran.
Want me to send down the JWT ecu for the day?? heheheheheheheehehehehe

I'll put up a high 13

Not to rain on your parade, but I know of a 13-second Dodge Caravan (factory-aspirated, street legal, 4-cylinder). Do a "google" on Gus Mahon (R.I.P.).

Buahaha factory aspirated. What does that mean????? I think everyone knows about the 12-13 sec turbo minivan.

But, I agree, 13s are very possible if I just get better weather at a better track.

I've shaved 410 lbs from my car from stock. Have you? I've also have a high stall torque converter and good tires with the ability to cut a great 60 foot. A cutout always helps exhaust flow. My track intake setup always help flow too.

you still have no topend whatso ever!
i ran a 14.3 @ 98 mph.
see, all you have to do is ask, and i'll give ya advice on what i remember.
then again, i didn't port the exhaust manifolds, or strap the front end down, or skinnies. or drag radials, and a jwt ecu
blah blah blah, you get the idea
congrats man
get a torque convertor with a higher stall, or a higher flash, and slicks, air them down to about 12 psi, and hold on.
there are a couple things i could tell ya to help out, but those will cost you.

And I have PLENTY of top end. That's really all the power that I do have. But you forget that I may be making the same power as your VE 5spd did, but the VE 5spd has gearing that is perfect for the 1/4 mile. You top out 3rd gear as you are going through the traps. I have an insanely long 3rd gear and 1st and 2nd are perfect. Look at my 1/8 mile time. Not many people that run 14.3s in the 1/4 mile can touch that half track time.
I'm not going to touch a JWT ECU. I have other plans with the ZEMulator. If you look at my mods list on my website, you will see all that I've done to my car. If you don't mind, if you notice anything that I haven't already done, please let me know. I am very interested in any crazy OR costly ideas you may have. I am about to dump more than $2500 into my transmission. If I think the mod is beneficial enough, I will spend the money. Right now, cams aren't beneficial, so that's why I'm not considering them right now. For the same money, I can have most of my turbo kit pieced together.

do some more home porting.
just take some time and look at the motor and think to yourself "what can i do to make it faster"
experiment
thats what i did in the begining.
or just turbo it and be happy
dunno, just thinking
carry on!

Other than that, I can cut door beams like you. I can also rip out the PS system and AC system and mill off my UDP to get rid of the AC part of the pulley. It's all been done before.

do what you have to do, but remember, can you undo it if you screw up?
the stock manifolds will never flow as much as tuned headers. they were never designed too.
how about doing a 5spd swap and shave the 3 tenths off you need to hit 13's?
try a larger plug gap
hotter plugs
msd ignition?
move the battery to the back, run the air filter out the front of the car {IE remove the headlight} have you done an a/f pull on a dyno to see where you could do some tweaking at?
110 octane
im giving you free hints here homie

last thing you want to do for a FWD drag car is to move the battery to the trunk.. you want as much weight % as possible over the front wheels to help with traction. for a road course, that's totally different story.
