rb25det swap

I was wondering if anyone ever swapped a 240sx engine in their max?
I've seen rb25det's in hondas..sittings sideways.

But off hand I wouldn't be so eager to swap an enemic 160hp engine with one that already put out 190hp

apearently they make 250bhp stock but i dont see how you could fit an inline 6 into a FWD max with out making it RWD and cutting the **** out of the firewall and if you go through all that trouble why not use a RB26DETT or VH45DE with a BIG T

How much hp again? The RB isn't a 240 engine. It's just one that fits into one

It would probably cost less to buy an r32 skyline with an rb25det already in it than it would cost to put one in a maxima....

skyline costs $60k and better dude. and thats for a 91 basemodel.
I saw a website ( ill get the link later ) where someone dropped in an rb25det into a civic ( sideways ) just like our engines..he said all he had to do was fabricate some kind of plate to bolt onto the tranny..im just asking a general question here..since they are both nissans.

I'll go to my bgoy's house since he has both cars laying in the garage junked and see if the rb25det he bought for his 240sx swap could even fit in his maxima's engine bay sideways.

they make big hp, like 600-700 etc etc.

Do that first, then come back and ask questions.

remember you have to fit the tranny on the end of it as well... and the stock engine & tranny only has about 2" between the frame rails.
so the RB has to be less than 2.5" longer than the VG or VE.....

I can't believe that at all. Just because the VE's can barely fit inside of a maxima and that's a big freakin V6. You can also get a vg30et for much cheaper upgrade the cams and pistons from the VG30DETT and get a bigger turbo and you'll probably be producing more power than the RB. But I am wasting my tie writing this just because the tranny won't hold all of the power you're looking for unless you can fabricate something to bolt on the VQ.

I'm amazed this thread hasn't been locked yet.

he could be confusing a KA24DE that was bored to 2.5 with an RB25 but I doubt it.

:
heck even with pics it'll be worthless

actually the R32's are around 30k and that's for a GTR. a GTS-T (RB25DET) would cost a lot less.

personally, i'd stick with a turbo VG or VE as the low end torque would be so much better to get these heavy cars going. the RB engines are high revvers. they aren't bad at all, but they just take some rpm's to make real good power.

on top of that parts would be easier and cheaper to get for the VG and VE compared to a RB engine.

The only way to fit an inline six in a maxima is to make the maxima rwd...

To make a maxima rwd it will cost $$$$$$$$. Even though you can get a r32 gtr for less than $60k, It will probably cost that in parts and labor to make the maxima rwd.
