just wondering what my car should be idling at? it goes up and down between 500 and 1000 rpms is this normal? i just got done cleaning the throttle body with some instructions i found on this site but im not seeing much of a difference so im guessing 500 to 1000 is fine?

 

warm idle should be around 700 rpm fairly steady unless you have the AC or a stereo on or somthing to put load on the engine, in which case the idle will vary a little bit.

 

yea i idle at about 7-800 warm, sometimes i get to 1000 when it's cold

 

I had that problem when I bought Botch platinum plugs, Replaced with NGK's from Napa and and now RPMs are at a steady 700 @ idle. Also repalced plugs.
