Hello,

I recently bought a FSTB from Nissan Courtesy for my 93 GXE. The problem was it did not fit. On the passenger side (in the engine area), there was a AC metal hose in the way. After calling Courtesy, they said that a small number of Maxima (< 20%) has this problem. I ended up returning the item.

Did anyone have the same problem? Who would I buy the FSTB from to fit with my GXE.

Appreciate all pointers.

Thanks,
TP

Where exactly wouldn't the bar fit? Did the hose get in the way of bolting the bar down or in the way of the actually bar itself?

Same Here

The red bracket runs into my a/c hose also. They'll be getting a call from me too. I have a VE30DE motor, so I would have had to bend the bar to get it over the motor. Not a big deal there, but I'm not messing with the plumbing to the a/c for a lousy strut bar. Mine's going back too! Bye.

I had the same thing but the AC hose is metal with a foam protector on it so if you just put a little elbow grease in it it will fasten that's what I did and the fstb is fine and so is my AC.

Yup

Stillen, OBX and maybe a Cattman. The big problem lies with the 92-94 SE's with VE motors. We have to bend the bar too!

I just put the corner of my bar under the front wheel and bent it up.I actually just did this last weekend so it is still fresh in my mind. And the A/C hose I took a wire tie and pulled the hose back away from the bar as tight as I could...Then tied it back it touchs a little but not nearly as much as it did.

well guys, i have the same problem. my dad and i custom made a bar basically. we used the actual bar from obx, but had to basically create new mounting brackets (well, heavily modify the existing ones). it was a lot of work, and i have tons of metal filing to do, but hey it works. and now i have no clearance problems whatsoever. the ac hose isnt a problem since the mounting brackets dont reach out as far. i didnt have to bend it either. good for me my dad is a licensed welder. hehe. we took pics of the whole process and i'll have them posted in a few days.
