A couple other handy places to look for 3rd gen specific information..

Craig B's website:
http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~gte671n/mymax.html

Lots of info electrical stuff, such as foglights rewiring, taillights, VTC disabling, clock repair, etc. Quite a bit more other info there too. Follow the how-to link on the main page to get to his FAQ stuff.

And my (currently under destruction) website:
http://www.ee.utulsa.edu/~mblehm/faq/

It's not pretty, but it's quick and easy and explains many of the basic maintenance procedures people ask about.
detailed brake pad replacement,
Clock repair,
clutch replacement,
door panel removal,
changing gauge pods,
bypassing rear amplifier for non-bose systems,
rear disc conversion for GXEs with drum brakes in the rear,
window regulator removal and installation,
Also includes all the wiring color codes for just about every maxima made, among other items.

Kaleb's website: http://www.kalebonline.com/maxima/default.asp
Information (inluding part #s and prices) on window regulators, door lock timers, etc.

Bryan Tisch's site:
http://members.csinet.net/tisch/maxima/

This FAQ section has lots of misc info. Exhaust studs, links to VTC info, tips on drag racing, lots of other neat stuff.

I'm going to get rid of all the stickies at the top of the board. they're getting to the point where it's annoying to see 50 stickies every time I load the page.
BUT.. they're still archived in this post for your reference.
Please read these guys. we didn't spend our time and efforts typing all this stuff up to just be ignored.
(I know Jeff and I have put many hours into gathering and posting all this information, plus the many others that have cared to contribute).

Broken manifold studs.
