Rear ended

yes i got rear ended last week by my friende BMW 318i 1992

now that i got the time to write up a lil bit , i can tell you about it . It happen a night when we were back from a friend house ( like 5 am ) and my friend just fell asleep ( he was folowing me ) and never put on the brake at a redlight . Ended in my *** . The bad new is : i got my *** driven by a 4 cyl since now 1 week and 3 days . The good is i got for 3600 $ cdn damage on the car , but its been estimate at 4700 $ so they will repair it .

Rear bumper , trunk . the 2 fenders , are pure crap . Even the frame got hitted , so the rear driver side door stayed close . But i just came from the shop where they the job , they stretched the frame , and all the gap and the body came beautifully . There was some rusy on the driver side rear fender , and they repaired it . Now i am just curious on all the rest of the job , the paint match is very difficult to do , the guys at NAPA never did it well .

The insurances are paying 100 % of this , considering the fact that i am 100 % not guilty . Thats the good side of the whole thing .

Thanks to read me , i just like to share a lil bit , no one of my friend seems to understand that my car ( that i own since not even a month ) is very pricey to me .

our pearl white is almost impossible to match, its a 3 coat paint, white, pearl, clear coat.

If i were you id get the whole car painted, not just the back, it will look better that way, just my 2 cents....

glad youre ok

A pro should be able to match it no problem.

ha, i just did some test sprays on my black bumper with krylon almond color which is a very close match..i also bought some krylon pearl spray but it has a brown tint to it and ruins the near perfect match. you can buy some aerosol CHO P tricoat at an online shop i came across but it's $60 for the base and mid...krylon's cheaper

temp fix people...it's better than a black bumper on a pearl car

Well i hope that they will not get the right match , and paint the whole car in compromise

would be great

I used some DuPont spray can paint to paint my front bumper ( who was chipped at some place ) and the new hood i bought from a junkyard ( grey ) Worked great , but its a lil bit too white . Anyway , temp fix also , i will have the hood proffesionnaly painted with the black rocker panels this summer . Should i get those painted the same color of the car ? of let them black ? did someone tried it ?

yeah today i sprayed my rocker panels up front with the krylon..looks pretty good. seriously krylon's almond colored paint is hardly noticable. i'm gonna spray the entire bumper next week...then my car won't look like such a beater anymore and i can drive it with dignity until i respray the entire car (not with krylon though)

you are lucky you don't live in Michigan. No-fault insurance is the biggest load of horse **** I have ever heard of! I've been screwed by it once when I first bought the car.
