LSD in my 92 SE?????
LSD in my 92 SE?????
Have I been reading correctly? Is there some type of LSD in the SE's?? What type is it? How well does it work? Are there any problems I need to be aware of?? or am I completely
some guys that I work with say that they have never seen a FWD car with LSD. they said that you have to have a rear diff in order to have LSD. I didnt know what to say to this. Im sure that its not like super rare to have LSD in a FWD car but how can I explain to them that it does have a VLSD?
It's not dependant on weather it is FR or FF. It's dependant on the manufacturer and what he wants to do. Very often on more luxurious cars you would see VLSD. Volvo S60 has traction control and thats FF. Saab 95 is the same.

What does the VLSD actually do? I know it makes it so i can spin both tires, which is pretty impressive cause no one else at school can do it, but other than that what is it for?
when one tire doesnt get traction, it transfers power over to the tire that DOES get traction, giving you control over traction, ie traction control, where all your friends dont have it

But how would both tires spin? Because the way i see it in my mind was if one tire starting spinning it would drop power to it and put it on the other one and then it wouldnt spin...
because it tries to spread the power SOME, not dump it all at the wheel thats getting traction, so when you're on pavement, both spin because neither tire is getting traction...if that made sense..it made more sense in my head than it did after I typed it...
LSD is not to be confused with Positrac which is generally only seen on RWD vehicles, where both tires get the same power...which allows for great fun if your vehicle has the motor to break em loose

Tell your friend to go check the new SRT-4 , whitch is LSD and FF . 92 + SE are too , cause i think VG never got that . But thats not ALL the VE who get LSD . There was a thread a few weeks ago on that , you can see that by a letter in the hood . Dunno witch one , but you can : P
Limited Slip Differential, if you cannot make out what that means I suggest you type it in googe or something..oh let me be quiet, I am the guy who asked can a 240sx engine fit sideways in an SE after all..* bows head and leaves thread *
Well technically the stock KA24 sohc or dohc can fit sideways into a maxima. As that's how they are in the older Altimas. But the RB series inline 6 engines are NOT 240sx engines. They just happen to fit. People fit GM LS1 V8 engines into FD mazda RX7s. That doesn't make them RX7 engines.

Either way I'm happy to have it. I nearly spent way too much too get a LSD put in my old Probe, heck I'm a step further.
