yet another headlight mod thread

what are the thoughts out there of basically a stock headlamp but with a clear, clean lens - meaning no lines - and HID?

ok so i guess it wouldn't be so stock...but by stock i mean it wouldn't have the bimmer implant look.

lemme know if i'm being too vague

if i had any photoshop skills u'd have a pic but - well - i suck in that department

search for the thread i started called "ebay clear corners" someone replied with a pic of his max with completely clear corners and headlights, looks damn nice. i'd like to do it as well sometime. the bmw mod is cool but i think the max headlights are one of the best features of our generation so the mod takes away a lot of the car's character imo.

i think i see the pic you're talking about but it seems that the car has the bimmer transplant look going on - not the oem headlight setup

how would you get hids to shoot a nice beam in our stock headlights? you could possibly retrofit anything in there.....just time and money i guess. i dont know what kind of headlight you would use to have a clean clear look unless you did something similar to the bmw headlights....just my 2 cents

have you taken a stock headlight apart? It would look really ugly if you just put a clean lens on it because it is just a large mirror with a big ugly metal piece in the center...they are not diamond cut like 4th gen and other clear headlights. You would also have to retrofit a projector in there for the HIDs. I have a set of dual projectors that I am working putting in the stock headlight so I can retain a stock look and have adjustability. I think they will look good but will take a lot of work to make them look right (fiberglass the inside to mold the projectors in etc.). I started, cut the spare housing I have and test fit the projectors. I may never finish though lol. I have way too many other things to do right now.
