Vavle

I found my 91 Maxima does not have power to go a little hill.
Someone check it and suggest me to replace vavle for one cylinder.
How much usually does it cost? Thanks,

Who is 'someone'? How did they come to the conclusion that you needed a valve replaced? A little more information... no, a lot more information could provide a better understanding of the problem you are having. Heck, a vacuum leak could cause incline struggles for your engine. What else you got?

If that was a mechanic that told you that, then he just wants your $$.

When was the last tune-up. You might just need new cap, rotor, wires, plugs. etc. You also might have a bad injector.

Hi !!! Student needs help !!!

Hi !!!

This is how it all began...my car is a 91 max se. I needed some tire rotation the car was running beautifully I took it down to a a mechanic with a good reputation, my tires were rotated I go home park the car and 1 hr later start it to find the steering vibrating and the car all kinda wobbly and the check engine light comes on.
I take the car to the closest mechanic, another chap with a repuatation of being honest, I didnt go back to the first guy because he wasnt there. They ran a computer scanner test on my car and told me a fuel injector has gone bad specifically they told me that I have an error code 51. The trouble is I have to go to work but absolutely cannot spend the 150 dollars or so per injector he mentioned that it could be just one injector but it could be 2 also or even more. I am asked to go back on Monday for another deeper diagnostic I dont know what this means ..should I get a second opinion. I really dont know what to do ??? can I drive with the car as it is for a couple of weeks...( i checked the prices of the injectors online they say it's around 65 dollars but I dont know what may come up when I go back.

Thanks.

A bad injector and a bad valve are two way different things.

do you know the history of your max? i believe that code 51 is for california models only, and seeing that you are in the midwest just leads me to wonder.
