little vaccume hose?
I was checking out some connections under my hood today, and saw a little blacktube coming from the middle of the drivers side of my engine.. There is a circular white thing on it, followed by another 5 inches or so of black tubing. Then the engine is running, this is sucking in air.
shoudl this be attached to something? lol
I would get a pic, but my wife took the digicam.

SO what does that affect exactly when it is disconnected?

U see the redddish brown circ in the pic? The actuator works a flap inside the upper intake, modifying its "lenght". Intake lenght has a correlation to torque: the longer, the more torque - the shorter, the more power (this is real). When the flap is closed, air travel route seems to be longer, when open: well - now there is a hole...
Thereby this has the name of power ctrl circuit... lol.
Hello! Has anybody dynoed the ACTUAL effect? Maybe 2hp??? Me at loss of this japanese gimmick.

Actually 4th gen max owners upgrade their variable intake to an MEVI (middle eastern variable intake), and they see somewhere around 6-8hp increase I believe (dyno proven).
