Quick question...
Just out of curiosity, on the 3rd gen's with the SOHC VG engine, the intake hose from the TB to the MAF...Does anyone know the diameter of this hose? Is it round the entire length? Is it a hard plastic, or soft rubber?
I'm looking at seeing if I can get one from a wrecking yard for cheap, and use it to fix a common intake problem on my Mazda...it would look more OEM than PVC, and the only metal I can find around here would need to be rust proofed before going into an intake tract...
Also, if someone would have one in a parts car, or left over from a project, how much would you want for it?

Well, the wagon is running, but up for sale...has all six firewall side exhaust manifold studs busted off...got everything together to fix, and just do NOT have the time or equipment - nor the money FOR the equipment - to do it right...
and with the old beath pushing 250k miles on the ODO, needing the T-Belt, and all misc. parts done, and the fact that it has a leaky valve guide, it would not be worth doing the studs only...be best off pulling it all down, and overhauling...and I just don't have the time or the cash...so I bought a small, Mazda 4 banger (only thing available in my area under $3000, that had 4 doors, and was big enough to fit three car seats in the back...)...
Wish I had the space - I'd keep the old wagon, and SLOWLY work on rebuild / restoring it...but no room to keep it...it's gotta go..

Yeah, another old Max aboutt o retire...shame too...she had a lot of life left in her...wish I could have found someone who was willing to put forth a little effort and work into her...90% of the problem areas and such were taken care of already...now, just a short list of annoying issues, but nothing major - except those *%(%(*^*&ing exhaust mani syuds...ARGH!
