shifter acting up

every time i put the shifter into park i always have to push a little further passed the "P" for it to really be in park. Otherwise the car thinks its still in reverse and next time i go to start the car it wont start because its still in gear. Is it the ignition safety switch or the neutral safety switch?? Anybody have this problem???? Help!!!!!!!!!

It could very well be the switch, but start cheap........check the linkage goin to the tranny from the shirter first. If that seems loose then adjust to spec. Dont mess wit it unless you have an FSM or something cause you could over or under sdjust it and things can go wrong.

They say the plastic [one dollar] bushings in both leverwire ends tend to wear down &break, thats why my bushings are well sprayed with lithium grease... Should be easy to replace.

edit: err seems me too shlow to type (=typerä)

definitly the shift cable bushing. don't make any adjustments, just replace both bushings.
