A Question for thoes that have the E36's

While I was installing the E36's I couldn't help but notice the white plastic piece that extends into the "high beam" light. What is this for?? A vent of some sort? Think it's reallty necessary? I'm considering removing its tip or replacing it altogeather with a single LED. The lights I have don't have "angel eyes", but I think I could get a silimiar effect with an led. Any thoughts?

I have never figured out what it is for either, but if you look at your corner lights you have on on there that looks like a piece of macaronni.

I know what you mean. That white plastic rod also had a little rubber boot on it. Out of curiosity, what's it for?

Whatever it's for it's about to be totally replaced with a LED kit from www.superbrightleds.com . I was just checking them out and for 16 bucks you can get a pretty cool set up. Hopefully will be the desired effect.

The photos have to be linked to a webpage. You could post them on like communitywebshots.com or cardomain.com and then you link the link here on the little thing next to the bold, italics, and underline button and then you have the picture up on the internet.

That white plastic tube is for condensation to drip out of the headlamp. There is a hose usually attached to it to make sure water drips down into engine bay on the e36 bmw. Most bmw headlights have it.
