what's up yall? I'm planning on buying a new set of wheels for my max and i'm not sure what look I'm going for. I'm leaning toward a set of monsoons but I would just like to see what other wheels look like on a 3rd gen max. so if anyone has any pictures of their max with some sweat rims on it would be really helpful. thanx

Here's mine...

But kinda old school with the gold spokes. Probably not what you young whipper-snappers are looking for these days. Try going onto the Tire Racks web site and looking at their selection. www.tirerack.com. You can pull up an image of your car, in the color you have and select wheels that will put an image of them on the car. I think Discount Tire has a similar feature.

well.

unfortunately, I don't have any pics, but I am running a pretty nice set up. The Intrax lowering springs for a 1.75" drop and the 98 Max SE wheels. I like it alot.

Too much brake dust?

That's where metalic-composite brake pads come in! Very little brake dust. Must less than conventional asbestos-based pads. Much better stopping power. Longer life and less crap on your wheels.

Personally, I really like the gold rims on Maxmizd's car. With that body kit and emerald color, it really looks like a touring car.

I think yours is one of the best looking ones on here.

BTW - Im hoping I can steal...uhh..buy some 2001 16" or 17" rims.

Thanks man! That's nice to hear. I really appreciate that with all the work that's gone into it over the 5 years that I've had it. I got it as a 2-year-old in May of '96. It was turned in from a 2 year lease with 27K on it and bone stock! Fortunately, it was practically still in the wrapper, even under the hood. The dark color is an sob to keep nice since it is a year 'round daily driver, including the PA snow! I have a great detailer that I take it to before a show if the paint is worse than what I can fix myself. Did about 2/3rds of all the work myself, but credit for that shine you see in my sig pix belongs to a guy in Hershey, PA named Kevin Longchamp.
Thanks again.

Any Suggestions?

I am planning on buying a set of 2k 16" rims, but I dont know whats the best size tire for that rim. I also want to get them at a low price. Any suggestions on tire size and brand to look for. I was interested in the Khumo Ecsta (sp?) but they are horrible in the snow. I want a high performance tire with decent snow traction. I think that I want to get the Yokohama AVS db. They have a decent snow rating and still a good performing tire. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Borbet Type E

I have 16X7.5 Borbet Type E's I like them because they are easy to clean and are fairly light and wide.

if you're on a modem, these are 150k each, so be ready to wait a bit.

If you're on a budget, be ready to wait for these wheels- if you can even find 'em. Retail price on them was somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 each, and they're discontinued (like all good things, you can never find any more!)

I have more, but they are about a year and a half old. I will soon get some pix on here that were taken at the Carlisle show, as was my current sig pix (that I think was taken by Phil96SE). I can get you links to the older ones if you want them.

That's no kit! It's a Stillen hi-flow intake, a painted valve cover, re-taped ignition wires, a ton of wire loom and flexible stainless steel radiator hoses from Summit Racing. You have to bend and cut the radiator hoses yourself. All done one-by-one and a lot of time! If I get really bored some weekend I'm going to re-plumb my vaccuum hoses with red or blue silicone lines.

Eva consider big heavy chrome rims? If so, these are Neeper N-7, 17x7. Heavy, but they look good on the max.

I am about to buy a set of Konig Caffeine 17" or Enkei Sportline Shoguns 17". I saw Bucktown's Caffeine's and IMHO, those are the tightest rims I have ever seen. I think his ride is one of the sweetest that I have seen. Period.

Hey Matt, are those pics before or after your 15% tint. The windows look completely untinted so I was just wondering.
