Someone bought my max!!!
Today I went up to the junkyard in which my dad sold my old SkyBlue maxima hoping to buy the car back. I had $1800 ready... (that's how much the junkyard wanted for it). So I walk around the place and I can't find my maxima. I walk into the office and ask them where it is. Their words "oh we sold it already". WTF!!!!! I told those *******s I was coming to buy the car like a month ago and that I had to wait because I didn't have the money. Then I tried to see if they could give me info on who bought the car (I was thinking about buying it from the new owner). Then they declined to give me any info. DAMNIT!!!
LOL.. nah.. I can't sue. We made a verbal agreement and I didn't place a deposit down and nothing was ever written on paper. If I took him to court, I would come out empty handed. Plus, I didn't want my dad knowing about the whole situation.
Nevin..
it's worth a shot, but you could run carfax on your VIN # and see where that goes.. it'll tell you if the people who bought it were local.. after that, if you know anyone that can trace a tag of vin # through the system (friends with a cop/lawyer/etc).. run the car through that way and they can find the owner....
dad passed a max for sale on the highway the other day, and got the tag # off it. it was too far away to get the contact info on the FS sign.. so he gave the tag # to my sister (who knows every cop in town because most of them have arrested her at one time or another. ).. she gave it to them and they came back with the owner's name, address, and phone #.

the junkyard may have pulled the engine themselves, but if they sold the whole car, I kinda doubt it.
if anything, try to talk to someone at a local tag agency.. even if they bought the car with a junk/salvage title, they STILL have to title it. a tag agency might be able to help you find out some info..
or even call your insurance company and see if they can help you track it down. it's worth a shot man...

Thanks everyone. I am working out a deal for my next car with someone. Not sure if I will be able to buy it(kind of expensive).. but I'm not telling anyone what it is.. It's going to be a suprise. This is only if I can't buy parts off my old maxima. Looking for another car is a PITA.. especially when you are looking at several different types of cars.
Sarah: I am trying my best to find a car that is black or possibly white.. hehe
Matt: Thanks for your help. If the "bribe" doesn't work I'll check with insurance or the local notary where they keep track of tags.

Welp.. my little bribe worked. I got the address to the owner of my skyblue maxima. Went over to his house. I see my max there with no wheels and there's also a gold 3rd gen in the driveway. I talked to the guy and he actually trying to fix my car! I thought he was crazy but whatever.. I asked him if I could swap engines with him and he didn't sound interested at all. He asked me alot of questions about the car like how the alarm works and why some parts are missing. This guy looks like he's in his mid 30's. I just couldn't understand why he would want my old car?? I neglected to tell him about the engine internals or the 300ZX parts. I kinda got into a bad mood as I was there. As I was leaving I look at the 1/4 panel windows and notice he took off my MAXIMA.ORG stickers. Those were the old NisMO stickers that came out a long time ago. I wonder if this guy ever visits Maxima.org?? That would be funny if he was reading this post right now. Maybe he would change his mind and sell me the engine!!
Hey Skymax....
you can always sneak onto his property at night and swap the engines out!(j/k) I know there are a couple guys on here that can drop some axles and a trans out of a car in less than 5 minutes!
by morning he wouldn't know any better!
and for all you guys into LEGAL MUMBO JUMBO, this is a joke, I'm not advocating robbery! There I said it!
