Got it started with a screwdriver and brought it home (before & after pics too) -->

After a little bit of coaxing I finally got it started, paid my $125 to the impound lot and drove it home. The ba$tards even took my windshield wipers. Here is the list of the major damage:

1) door handle is ripped open, I assume I will have to find a new door if I want to keep the car but how will my key work? The window will only go down a few inches before it hits the broken stuff inside of the door.

2) the ignition is gone, again, all it takes is a screwdriver. how in the world do I get this fixed??

3) they did a good job of ripping out the dash pieces so the trim is good, just the part that the trim screws into is looking not so lovely

4) finally, the last picture shows that they cut two different wires around the radiator, I have not been able to figure out where they plug into. Could someone look at their car and let me know?

I am not sure if it is worth keeping. It would be nice to find a 94 SE 5-sp with a bad engine or tranny, put my stuff in, and part out what is left over.

I finally got the pics working now thanks to photodump.org

Drugs.

Needs new ign sw/lock, fuse replacement. Startup may be direct jumpered until u get that to the grey connector. For this reason I've done lots of work, in jail and out of jail, hope this helps u: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748507/5

Open harness, grey connector, add +12V from batt. No need to weld u scredriver...

sorry to hear that dude, thats just wrong. but if you find a new door and want to keep you keys, all you need to do remove the lock assembly from your old door and put it in the new one in, its just a bit of a hassle to get it out of the door.

I normally say "sell and start fresh" but your car is so rare that it's worth
repairing. A decent wrecking yard should have everything you need..

thats bad.. damn. how much mileage you got on the engine? if your thinking about buying that guys SE auto, and doing the 5-spd swap, it may be more trouble then repairing all those problems. i may be wrong though. also if he got more mileage then you, im not sure it would be a wise choice either. i know its not easy, but repair and replace. thats the route I would go

btw - what did they do to the hood? was it always like that?

And on top of it, they add insult to injury by charging you $125 to get your car back. What a joke!
Hey man - I've been where you are right now. It's the worst feeling. And it lasts even longer the more you have to look at it. So get her back up and purring. It's a good remedy to ease them blues.

a 5-sp swap? no way, I own one screwdriver and i think I know how to use it. I'm not much of a mechanic really.

I have 152k with the original clutch and tranny.

The way the hood looks is just the way the pic turned out. Here is a better one from last weekend:

Damn dude, that was one beautiful car. Never thought Red would look so good on a maxima. If there ever was a reason for applying the death penalty, this would be it. Sorry dude.

if it were my car i would fix it because all the damage is very minoir but if you dont have the skillz to do it maybe someone on the org would buy it for a good price or ebay it

rough estimates on parts

door 100$

lights (stock) $100

horn 20$

radio 150$ - to infinity

key cylinder plus rekeying to your key 75$

so for under 500$ it could be fixed (or alot less if your resourceful)
