My Maxipad has been running like crap the last few months,(runs great shortly after start up, say ten mins., and then it just goes flat on power, it feels like a four cylinder honda with the a/c on trying to get on the highway!)
Ive been to one mechanic, (an ex-nissan mechanic with his own shop now), he gave up on it.

Now I have this other guy looking at it. He went thru every sensor in the car by hand with a multimeter, everything was fine, even the ignition module.
Then he started checking the outputs on the ecm, every thing was kool, except for the VTC output, which is the output that grounds out the VTC's when they are supposed to be activated. There is no signal ever when the motor is at idle, and then you suddenly floor while in neutral, according to this guy, it show should something.

There are no VTC noises at startup or when warmed up.
The VTC's do work.

Ive grounded the VTC's out, and there is no difference in the drive.

He says the ECM is no good on pin 54, which is supposed to be the VTC signal.

The injectors have recently been cleaned, new plugs, new Eng. temp sensor, new stat, new O2, stock airbox with panel filter K&N.
New cat and muffler, all 2.25"
Lightened flywheel, centerforce clutch.

How common is it for the ecm to crap out like that.

Would a bad ecm show up in the scan with a Nissan Consult.

The first time at the mechanic, it got scanned, and nothing showed up, Maybe due to bad ecm????(cause it showed everything was okay, meanwhile the eng temp sensor was Open circuited....

Any help would be appreciated.
Im loosing my patience here....

Thanks in advance.

check to see if the EGR valve is sticking after the engine warms up. you can move the diaphram up manuely.
