Pearl White Paint Repaint?

My 90 SE has the Pearl (Pearlescent?) White paint. I know it can be repainted in the same color because a previous owner had some work done to the fender. However, my question is this: is it more expensive to have body work (minor rust in places) done on a car with pearl paint, would it be cheaper just to have the car repainted in another color... or what?

If you have experience in this area, I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks

well the pearl white paint is a 3 stage paint. The paint is expensive and the painter will charge you more to paint it.

With that being said its still probably cheaper than going with a different color because it would cost a lot to paint the door jambs, under the hood and trunk so I think its better to stick with the pearl white.

The pearl paint isn't so expensive that it would warrant painting the entire car another color. Stick with the original.

Pearl paint is the hardest color to match. I've seen shops try like 5 times to get it right. When going to a body shop and having this paint done, go with the mindset that you get what you pay for. If its too cheap its probably not going to match. It also matters on how well they can match.
