KYB VS Gabriel
#4
I just installed the Gabriels on all four corners and I have to say that they're just fine. NO shock will make your 15-year-old car behave like a Lotus. However, the Gabriels do behave and will help your car act respectably. I enjoy mine immensely and if you have a choice to make (and no Autocrosses to run) then buy the Gabriels and be happy.

Yeah, I don't know much about the gabes, but I just installed some KYB's with some sprints in the front and they seem to do pretty well for, though anything you put on with springs ia a little bumpy of a ride

probably will need to buy new dustboots.

Good idea to change your dustboots, unless you have recently. My stock ones were totally trashed. Dustboots/bumpers aren't really cheap, either -- about $15-$18 each.
Oh, I also found out that the KYB rear dust boots don't fit on Tokicos. The dustboots from NAPA fit in the rear if you have Toks. They serve the same function, I just got a better deal on the KYB boots locally, but had to take the rears back and go to NAPA.
I have Tokico blue struts and Eibach springs all the way around. I really like the way the car handles. Obviously, it's stiffer than stock, but I have driven it back from Seattle (3.5 hours) and to Woodburn, Ore. and back (1.5 hours each way) and not been bothered by them.

so how long do you guys give the gabrials that my dad made me put on my car till they die?
btw they perform at least 10x better with SE springs then the blown stock struts with GXE springs

Like Shawn said, maybe KYB changed them. I bought brand new KYB boots/bumpers and the opening through the thick part (bumper) was too small for the Tokicos to fit through.
Shawn, I also tried it again when I got home and there was no way...that's part of the reason I had to wait a few days to finish the rears. I was waiting for NAPA to get the boots.
on the sway bars. I only have a rear one (ST) and the stock front and I can really tell a difference in handling.
